Sony’s Blu-ray disc format defeated Toshiba’s HD DVD in 2008, to
 become the dominant high-defi nition video and audio standard

WiMax versus LTE
Mobile carriers are currently split over which of these 4G technologies to
 back, although LTE appears to be the frontrunner.
